Breaking My Face For Specialized – Trail Crew Wannabe

0

n503441877_1259373_1492First, I’d like to thank Specialized for my first broken face…errr, broken nose. You’re the first bike and last bike I ever want to ride. You’re the reason I love mountain biking, and I’ll tell you why I’m the right guy for your crew.

It all started with those crazy DVDs…and I’d like to thank The Collective for sleepless nights of watching their amazing footage over and over and over and over and ov…you get the point.  Mind-blowing drops, gaps, tricks and locations is exact what I had in mind for my first mountain biking experience. A guy can dream right?

A couple of vomits into my first ride I realized all of those amazing tricks and jumps took work, lots of work. My fiance would agree because her first trip was my first trip, and we were in the same boat. Fortunately, I survived and wanted more hurt, more blood and more vomit. Passion comes at a price and I was willing to pay up. I nor my sweet sweet fiance can count the number of times I’ve bugged her to let me go to Gravity Camp at Whistler and run down to FATS and tear it up (not my face) on some single track. I haven’t made it to Gravity Camp, but it’s on the list. I only started really biking a few years ago, but my skills have improved over the last 2 years and things are really beginning to look up for my sweet biking skills. My endurance is getting crazy good, and after a hundred or so cuts and bruises I am still chugging along. I love this sport.

I’ve been big into the outdoors for as long as I can remember, always in the woods and always on a bike. The more I ride, the larger my passion grows for such a fun and exciting sport. My passion has been a huge help convincing coworkers and friends to grab a bike and jump out on the trail with me. I can proudly say I’ve been able to organize and connect with friends out on the trails after work, during work (shhhh don’t tell) and on blistering hot 100 degree weekends. Biking for me has been a fantastic way to spend time with my friends and family, an experience I wouldn’t trade for anything.

n503441877_1523475_2365988You need someone that is comfortable with Facebook, Twitter, blogging and I’m perfect for the job. Social media is my forte and I’ve been writing, blogging, and doing video and web design for the last 8 years. It would be a dream come true and honor to ride, document, and share my Specialized experiences with the world. I ride every chance I get and I think I’m one crew member you can count on to make you proud. I’ve already proven I’ll break my face for you. What are you waiting for? Pick me!

Here’s a little article I wrote about my endo/broken nose experience for Lifefitter.com: http://lifefitter.blogspot.com/2009/02/mountain-biking-101-assume-attack.html
